Day 1
Arrival – Marrakech
Upon arrival at the airport of Marrakech or Casablanca, transfer to Marrakech, where you will be picked up by our team and driven to the Riad in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech.Day 2
Marrakech – Essaouira (175 km)
Morning visit of the city of Marrakech: the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs and the Badi Palace. Then departure for Essaouira via Chichaoua, 3h30 drive. Arrival and installation in a riad in the heart of the medina. Free time to discover Essaouira, a charming city listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Mogador is the old Portuguese name of the city which means "small fortress". Discovery of the beach which offers a magnificent sunset sublimated by the nearby presence of the Purpurine Islands, ancient place of the manufacture of purple, which have become a bird reserve. Visit of the port, the Skala, the craftsmen souks and the artists workshops (the Essaouira school is world famous). Night at the riad in Essaouira.Day 3
Essaouira – Tafraout (335 km)
We leave Essaouira to join Agadir by the road which goes along the Atlantic coast. The arid straw-colored landscape is sumptuous, the opportunity for us to discover a tree with a thousand virtues, endemic to Morocco, the argan tree. Even the goats love it! After a stop in Agadir, we continue to Tafraout, a Berber town located in the heart of the Ammeln valley in the middle of a circus of pink granite rocks. Night at the inn in TafraoutDay 4
Tafraout – TATA (213 km)
In the morning, you will head southeast along the Aït Mansour valley with its thousands of palm trees. Gradually, the landscape will become more arid as you start the descent to Tata, a wonderful palm grove near the Algerian border in the Anti-Atlas. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel or Riad in TataDay 5
TATA - Agdez (220 km)
We leave Tata, our direction today: Taznakht then Agdez in the Draa Valley, through sumptuous and fascinating landscapes. Taznakht is a Berber city known for the traditional weaving of carpets, Agdez, meaning in Berber language "place of rest", important stage on the way of the caravans ssahariennes going to Tomboctou. This village marks the beginning of the famous Draa Valley, a flowered valley remarkable for its splendid palm grove, which extends all along the Oued Draa, its Ksours and its Kasbahs in adobe. Agdez -Merzouga (295 km)
We join N'kob and Tazarine, the land of the Ait Atta tribes, famous Berber nomads who have preserved their authentic way of life and their age-old traditions. Stop at the Souk of N'kob, then we continue to Alnif and Rissani, which was for eleven centuries the last stop of the caravans of the Moroccan South and the cradle of the current dynasty which governs Morocco (the Alaouites). Visit of the souk and lunch in a local restaurant. After Rissani, 35 kilometers from Moulay Ali Cherif and 50 kilometers south of Erfoud and 50 kilometers from the Algerian border, the village of Merzouga also called ''psammatotherapy''. Marks the beginning of the Sahara, with its immense dunes that run without regard to borders. The Erg Chebbi is with Chegaga the only Saharan Erg in Morocco, this immense field of ochre sand dunes extends over an area of 110 square kilometers (22 km long and 5 km wide) along the Algerian border, and crossed by very high dunes, on average 150 meters high. The red color of its sand will remind some of the magnificent dunes of Soslusvei in Namibia. Night at the bivouac at the foot of the dunes in MerzougaDay 7
Merzouga
Day hike through the dunes, in the footsteps of Berber nomads, from dune to dune, we discover majestic landscapes, picnic under the shade of Tamaris, afternoon, climbing the big dune of Erg Chebbi for an unforgettable sunset. Return to the bivouac.Day 8
Merzouga – Ouarzazate (370 km)
By the road of Tinjdad, we join Tinghir, a charming city known for its magnificent palm grove and its famous Todra gorges. The city is built in tiers around a promontory dominated by the ruins of an old Glaoui residence. Walk in the magnificent palm grove and fields, then visit the famous Todra Gorge, lunch in a restaurant in the gorge. In the afternoon, we continue to the famous Dades valley, famous for its beautiful Kasbahs and fortified villages. Then we continue via the road to the valley of roses and the palm grove of Skoura. Arrival in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon. Night at the hotel or riad in OuarzazateDay 9
Ouarzazate – Marrakech (204 km)
Today, departure for Marrakech through the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1987, several films have been shot there (Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, Kundun, Gladiator, the man who wanted to be king ...).Descent to Telouet before crossing the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka and reach the red city.
