This is a Desert Inclusive Tour and can be customised should you wish to extend your tour. It is ideally suited if you wish to combine your own planned visit to Morocco with an organised Desert Tour departing from and returning to your accommodation Marrakech.

Our ‘Signpost Timbuktu’ offers you a road trip travelling many Moroccan kilometres into the Sahara inclusive of a 6okm Desert piste drive into camp and 90km Desert piste drive out of camp, in the opposite direction to following camel caravan trading routes and in part the old Paris Dakar rally route over remote dunes, stony Desert piste and the vast but now dry Lake Iriki.

The journey traversing the High Atlas Mountains & Tichka Pass is a memorable adventure drive while the entire journey through the Draa Valley is a worthy ‘destination’ with unique red earthed crumbling Kasbahs, rural and remote Berber villages and date Palm Oases stretching out to the horizon.

The town of Zagora & agdez is also is our home base out with Marrakech and therefore you are always guaranteed a hospitable welcome and personalised insight into everyday life as lived by our family and friends in the south.

Your return journey is full of experiences and some unique to ‘hidden’ village oases in a time forgotten environment meeting with villagers whose way of life has remained relatively unchanged for generations.

Day 1

Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou To Agdez

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou To Agdez. The Sign Reads To Timbuktu. We meet with you at your accommodation Marrakech 8.00am. The High Atlas Mountains & Tichka Pass Drive. We go through the telouet road Visit UNESCO Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Visit Ouarzazate City Of the Films Visite studio of cinema Visite Kasbah Taourirte Lunch in Ouarzazate Arrive Agdz approx late afternoon / early evening. 1 Overnight Accommodation Zagora Including Dinner & Breakfast

Day 2

Agdz To Erg Chigaga Desert

Saharan Adventure Drive-In We Go. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Journey through spectacular date palm lined Draa Valley. Visit Kasbah Tamnougalt. Refreshment stop at unique little-walled palm garden. Visit the atmospheric Kasbah Oulad Othmane. A relaxed walk through Zagora Palmerie. We then go to the ancient Saharan village of Tamegroute. Tour of the partial underground Kasbah. The Kasbah is still home to several families. Lunch in M’hamid where the tarmac road ends. 60Km Desert Piste & Dune drive into Camp. Photograph & refreshment stops as you like. Arrive camp approx late afternoon. Approx 1hr camel ride at sunset. Saharan hospitality, live drumming & campfire. 1 Overnight Accommodation Chigaga Desert Camp Including Dinner & Breakfast.

Day 3

Erg Chigaga Desert To Fint Oasis

Historic Camel Routes & Berber Villages. An optional early rise to climb the towering dunes to watch the sunrise. An optional informal sandboarding. Depart Camp after breakfast. 90Km Desert Piste & Dune drive out of the Sahara. This drive differs from the entrance route. We follow part of the old Paris Dakar Rally route. Visit the now dry Lake Iriqui. Lunch at desert outpost Foum Zguid. After lunch depart the Sahara Region. A brief stop at Berber town of Tazenakht. Arrive Fint Oasis approx late afternoon. Relaxation in natural valley environment. Fint Oasis is a time forgotten natural treasure. Photograph & refreshment stops as you like. 1 Overnight Fint Oasis Including Lunch, Dinner & Breakfast.

Day 4

Fint Oasis To Marrakech

Kasbahs & Mountain Trails. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. An optional communal bread making with women of the village. An optional walking of the valley or mule ride. Depart Fint Oasis after enjoying the time. Lunch In Aguim. Return journey over the High Atlas Mountains & Tichka Pass. Photograph & refreshment stops as you like. Arrive at your accommodation Marrakech approx early evening.
