This Morocco tour from Marrakech presents an unusual and magnificent architecture only found in central and southern Morocco. On the road trip south into our home region, you have the opportunity to meet all manner of interesting people and to make discoveries in landscapes unique to southern Morocco, including an adventure off-piste desert drive and desert camping experience at the foothills of the towering dunes of Erg Chigaga. On exiting the Sahara, you will follow, in part, the old Paris Dakar rally route and the historic camel trade caravan trails that once traversed this desert region to Mali and Timbuktu. Day 2

Marrakech To Ait benhadou

Traversing High Atlas Mountains South. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Traverse High Atlas Mountains & Tichka Pass. Visit distressed but highly decorative Kasbah Telouet. Explore UNESCO & International film location Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Lunch in Ait Ben Haddou area. Day 3

Ait Ben Haddou To Zagora

Into Date Palm Lined Oases. We meet with you at your accommodation a little later today to afford you some relaxation. Visit International film location town of Ouarzazate. Meet with a local professional Guide for short walking tour of the Agdz Palmerie. Lunch at Kasbah Tamnougalt with panoramic views. Foum Zguid To Taroudant

Follow Ancient Camel Trade Routes. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Scenic drive through atmospheric and remote post-Desert landscapes. Visit colourful Berber carpet making town of Tazenakht. Journey into the mountainous saffron-growing region of Morocco. Unique visit to saffron co-operative in traditional mountain village of Taliouine. Enjoy a traditional village lunch. After lunch journey to the majestic city of Taroudant. Arrive Taroudant late afternoon. Early evening caleche ride around the city. This is a relaxing way to view the walled city, especially after a Desert drive. Taroudant To Essaouira

Road To The Atlantic. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Meet with private local and professional Taroudant Guide. Visit Medina, the markets & souks of Taroudant. Essaouira

Trade Winds & Sea Salt In The Air. We meet with you at your accommodation mid-morning today to allow for some relaxation. Meet with private and local Guide for a walking tour of the UNESCO port town. Walk along the ancient ramparts with views of the Atlantic and sweeping sandy bay. The film director Orson Wells filmed scenes from ‘Othello’ on the ramparts. More recently scenes from the tv series ‘Game Of Thrones’ have been filmed in this location. Visit the Artisans who craft their wares below the ramparts. Visit a fish market to choose your catch of the day lunch. Your choice of fish is then cooked in a local rooftop café. After lunch, you may wish to have some free time exploring the Medina and souks. Here the Medina is much more relaxed than in Marrakech. You may also wish to visit the many art galleries, artisan shops and many street cafes. Moroccan Wines & Music. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Visit the wilder coastline of Diabat just a short drive from Essaouira. The musician Jimi Hendrix lived here for a short while. Visit a colourful beach shack café that pays homage to the musician. Optional 1hr horse riding or camel riding along the beach. Visit the only winery in the South of Morocco. Lunch of authentic dishes of the region in the winery’s restaurant. Optional tasting of the winery’s wines. After lunch enjoy some relation in the vineyard’s grounds and garden. Return to your accommodation approx mid /late afternoon. Photograph & refreshment stops as you like. Day 12

Day Tour Marrakech To Ourika Valley

Gardens, Kasbahs & Mint Tea. We meet with you at your accommodation after breakfast. Escape the city today with an approx 50mins drive to Ourika Valley. For the pleasure of taking a relaxing outdoor herbal footbath, we visit Jardin-bio aromatique. Visit a Berber Family Home to partake in an informal mint tea ceremony. Scenic drive into Ourika river valley. In Ourika tagine cafes place their tables and chairs in the shallow river bed. Mountain village drive to Places for lunch and afternoon relaxation. Kasbah offers you panoramic picture-perfect views of the valley below. Photograph stops as you like. Visit to Le Jardin Secret the recently restored Islamic garden ‘hidden’ in the Medina. After lunch return to your accommodation should you wish to freshen up. Alternatively, free time as you prefer.
